This Easter, many families across the UK have changed their plans to stay at home due to the ongoing coronavirus situation. Not being able to see friends and family during the holiday times can be tough, so we’ve come up with some fun ways you can use Nextdoor to celebrate Easter with your neighbours.

Download our fun templates and colour in the Easter eggs or Easter bunny, then stick the poster to a front window, front door or hang it from something like a tree or bush in your front garden. Wishing your neighbours a “Happy Easter” is a lovely way to brighten up the neighbourhood and someone’s day! Or use them indoors for some fun Easter themed decorations.
2. Share your Easter activity tips with neighbours
Bring your egg and spoon race indoors by clearing space and adding in some extra rules like singing a song at the same time or use our Easter templates for an indoor Easter egg hunt. For arts and crafts, you could try painting hard-boiled eggs or creating an Easter collage with nature bits collected from a spring scavenger hunt on one of your daily walks.

3. Share your favourite Easter recipes
Whether you have outdoor space or not, throwing down a rug or blanket and creating an Easter themed picnic with your family can be a fun way to celebrate Easter with food. If you’re stuck for ideas why not try this super simple recipe? Try making chocolate Easter nests, you can easily swap in and out ingredients and get creative!
- 150g chocolate
- 50g butter
- 100g Rice Krispies or your favourite cereal
- a packet of mini eggs for decoration
- Melt the chocolate in a bowl over a saucepan of simmering water or in the microwave, then fold in the butter.
- Next, stir in the cereal making sure you coat the cereal fully. Scoop your mixture into cupcake cases or an old Tupperware box will do fine, and then decorate as you wish.
- Leave your Easter nests to cool in the fridge for 20 minutes or on the side (before devouring!).
