Today is the first day of October and you know what that means – Nextdoor’s Trick-or-Treat Map is back and the Halloween countdown has begun.
Whether you plan to take the kids out trick-or-treating or will be transforming your home into a spooky surprise, our annual Trick-or-Treat Map lets you share your Halloween plans with your neighbours and so is a handy resource for parents.
You can use our map to plan your trick-or-treating route and find the best streets for treats in your neighbourhood. It’s also a great tool to know which neighbours would rather not be disturbed, allowing you to be aware of who you scare on Halloween night, ensuring a fun and safe night for all.
It’s easy to get involved, just follow our steps below:
- If you’re already a Nextdoor member, simply sign in to your account. If you are not yet a member, you can sign up and verify your address to ensure you don’t miss out on the fun: nextdoor.co.uk/treat.
- Once signed in, visit your neighbourhood map. On the website, you’ll find the Trick-or-Treat map in the right-hand corner or on the app, tap the “More” menu in the bottom right-hand corner of the navigation bar, then tap “Treat Map”.
- You will be given the choice to add a sweet on top of your home (or a haunted house, for those who are going the whole hog!). For neighbours who live or plan to visit a multi-tenant building, just click on the parcel to see the details of who will be participating in that building.
- Halloween is definitely more fun with all your neighbours and friends involved, so encourage them to check out the map and let the neighbourhood know whether they will be handing out sweets.
So grab your fangs, dust off your broomstick – and let’s make this Halloween the sweetest yet! Trick or treat yo’ self!
